Frequently asked questions
Clear answers about budgets, timelines, WordPress, nonprofit pricing, and what happens after launch.
Projects & pricing
Most custom website projects start around $2,000 CAD. Content volume, design complexity, integrations, e-commerce, and other functionality shape the final quote. We begin with a conversation so the proposal reflects the work you actually need.
A focused small-business website often takes several weeks. The schedule depends on content readiness, functionality, review rounds, and how many people need to approve decisions.
No. Existing pages, rough notes, and a list of missing pieces are enough to begin planning. We’ll identify what is needed before development starts.
The review structure will be defined in your proposal. Feedback is grouped into focused rounds so decisions remain clear and the project keeps moving.
Building & handoff
Most builds use WordPress with a custom theme and flexible Gutenberg blocks. The goal is to avoid dependence on a restricted paid page builder while keeping everyday updates manageable.
Yes. The handoff includes practical training for the people who will manage the website. Common content changes should not require a developer.
Not currently. You retain your own hosting account, and 52Hz does not require an ongoing maintenance plan. One-time WordPress cleanups are available when an existing site needs attention.
After review, training, and handoff, you can continue to reach 52Hz by email if a question or issue comes up. Any additional work will be discussed clearly before it begins.
Working together
Absolutely. 52Hz works remotely with organizations across Canada through email and video calls, with a particular connection to Western and Northern communities.
Canadian registered charities and provincially, territorially, or federally registered nonprofit organizations may qualify. A registration number or equivalent documentation is confirmed before quoting. Some unregistered community groups may be considered individually.
Eligible organizations receive 15% off 52Hz Media’s strategy, design, and development services. Third-party costs such as domains, hosting, paid plugins, licences, and processing fees are not discounted.
No. Accessibility-minded design and development are a standard part of every website project. If a project requires a formal audit, certification, or specialized remediation, that additional scope will be identified separately.
